Breast lumps removal is a surgery performed on the breast to remove lumps that may be cancerous. Tissue around the lumps may also be removed through this procedure.

Breast lumps can be an indication of cancer, but are actually very common in women of all ages, even among healthy women and especially in premenopausal women. Cystectomy (ovarian cysts removal)

Cystectomy is a surgical procedure to remove a cyst (fluid-filled sac) from the ovary or its surface.

Ovarian cysts often show no signs or symptoms, but can sometimes cause pain and bleeding. Persistent or symptomatic cysts larger than 3 – 4cm may require surgery to confirm the diagnosis of an ovarian cyst, to remove a cyst that is causing symptoms, or rule out ovarian cancer and to preserve fertility and the ovary.

Cystectomy is performed when there are indicators or suspicion of malignancy (cancer), and is often performed as a laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, but in some cases, may be done by open surgery.

Cholecystectomy (gall bladder removal)

Cholecystectomy is the surgical removal of the gall bladder to treat symptomatic gallstones and other gall bladder conditions.

Although gallstones, in theory, can be broken down with shock waves or chemical treatment, they often recur and the complications from such treatments outweigh the risk for gall bladder removal surgery in established surgical practice. Complications from gallstones include cholecystitis (infection of the gall bladder), cholangitis (blockage of the bile duct resulting in pain, fever and jaundice) and pancreatitis.

A gall bladder removal surgery is done using small instruments and a video camera, which are inserted into the abdomen through a few small keyholes.
