Q: What kind of conditions do you treat?

I am an obstetrician and a gynaecologist. I take care of women during their pregnancy and deliver babies. Q: What kind of treatments do you perform specially?

My subspecialty interest is in gynae-laparoscopic surgery. I have Level III Gynae-laparoscopy Accreditation and have performed well over 1,000 cases of laparoscopic myomectomy, hysterectomy and cystectomy to remove fibroids, uterus and cysts respectively. #readmore

Patients who undergo laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery tend to get smaller scars, less pain, faster recovery and a shorter hospital stay. I also regularly perform open surgery for cases which are not suitable for keyhole surgery.

Q: How do you put your patients at ease for their delivery?

I like to keep a good rapport with patients and make them feel at ease to share their worries or concerns regarding their impending delivery. I believe in maintaining good, open communication with patients. I take the time to explain in detail all the pros and cons of undergoing certain treatment options. I believe that patients should make an informed decision on their choice of treatment.

Q: What is your philosophy in treating your patients, especially in early detection?

I always believe in doing my best for all my patients. From an early stage of my training, I have always been reminded by my mentors that I should treat all my patients like they are my sister, mother, grandmother or auntie. They are all my family. I will also look for the best specialist for them for conditions beyond my specialty.

I believe in regular screening and early detection. This is very important because early detection in some conditions will enable doctors to help patients make a fuller recovery.
