Dr Loh Poh Yen is a gastroenterologist at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital and Parkway East Hospital, Singapore.
His special interests are in the treatment of viral hepatitis and advanced liver diseases.
He is experienced in managing complex gut, liver and general medical problems, which are often interrelated and require holistic approaches in the management.
He is one of the few doctors in Singapore to be accredited by the Ministry of Health as a specialist in two specialties (gastroenterology and internal medicine).
Dr Loh came to Singapore to pursue his specialist training in both gastroenterology and advanced internal medicine. He underwent further training in the field of liver transplantation at Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan.
He was a former consultant at Changi General Hospital, where he provided medical care for patients with both gastroenterological and general medical problems.
Dr Loh was actively involved in the training of young doctors. He was a clinical senior lecturer to medical students from NUS’ Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and was also core faculty for SingHealth’s senior residency programme aimed at training young gastroenterologists.
