  • Dr Chuah Sai Wei is a gastroenterologist practising at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore. She has clinical expertise in managing gastrointestinal and liver conditions, and subspecialty interests in inflammatory bowel disease. She routinely performs procedures such as diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy, colonoscopy and capsule endoscopy.
  • Dr Chuah graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree with commendation from the University of Glasgow, UK in 2002. She then embarked on specialist training in internal medicine and became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom in 2005. She subsequently obtained the specialist accreditation in the fields of gastroenterology and hepatology (liver disease). Her advanced fellowship training in gastroenterology was in the area of inflammatory bowel disease at the Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge University Hospital Trust, UK.
  • Dr Chuah was previously a consultant at the Department of Gastroenterology & Hepatology and the director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Centre at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH). She was also a visiting consultant in the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Singapore. She continues to be a visiting consultant at SGH.
  • Dr Chuah was actively involved in the hospital's service development. She was the co-chair of the Centre for Digestive & Liver Diseases (CDLD) executive committee at SGH and the SingHealth Transition Care Workgroup. She was also active in clinical research and has received several research grant awards. She was the core faculty member of the SingHealth Gastroenterology Senior Residency Programme. She has given lectures as an invited speaker for both local and regional workshops and conferences. She is currently the vice chairperson of the National Foundation of Digestive Disease, Singapore.
