Dr Fong Kee Siew is an ophthalmologist at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital and Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore.
She subspecialises in eyelid, orbit and lacrimal surgery, including surgery for droopy eyelids and eyebags, and cataract.
She was formerly the head of the oculoplastic department at Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC). She is a visiting senior consultant at SNEC and Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
After graduating from medical school at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and obtaining her specialist degree in ophthalmology, Dr Fong went for her subspecialty training in diseases of the orbit, eyelid and tear drainage system at the Sydney Eye Hospital in Australia on a scholarship from the Singapore Government.
She was the secretary of the Asia Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr Fong is actively involved in skills transfer courses on ptosis or droopy eyelids, malpositioned eyelids and tearing problems to train other eye surgeons in the Asia-Pacific region as well as in the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She is also a senior clinical lecturer at NUS.
She has published more than 20 papers, with many in peer-reviewed scientific journals. She is a reviewer for the Annals of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore and the Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science.
