Dr Kuo Li Chuen Tricia

Dr Tricia Kuo is a urologist at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.

Her subspecialties include urinary incontinence, pelvic floor disorders, functional lower urinary tract disorders, and benign prostate hyperplasia. She is also experienced in urology procedures such as reconstructive urology.

She was formerly a consultant urologist at Sengkang General Hospital (SKGH) and Singapore General Hospital (SGH), and director of the female and reconstructive urology service at SGH. She started the urology service and department at SKGH, and the sacral neuromodulation service at SGH’s urology department. She is currently a visiting consultant with SGH and SKGH.

Dr Kuo graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and completed her advanced traineeship in urology. She was awarded the College of Surgeons’ Gold Medal Award for urology and completed her fellowship at Royal Hallamshire Hospital and Princess Royal Spinal Injuries Unit, Sheffield teaching hospitals in the UK. The fellowship at Royal Hallamshire Hospital focused on female urology, urodynamics and reconstructive urology.

Besides her clinical work, she was a clinical lecturer at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, an adjunct assistant professor at Duke-NUS Medical School, and a clinical teacher at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. She was also a physician faculty member of the SingHealth urology residency programme. Dr Kuo was previously an executive committee member of the Singapore Urology Association and the Society for Continence Singapore.

She is an active speaker and has presented at various local and international conferences including in Nepal, Philippines and Australia. She is also a reviewer of articles for several journals and most recently of the conference abstracts of the European Urology. She is an active researcher who has published several studies in functional and reconstructive aspect of urology. Dr Kuo is currently developing a device for stress urinary incontinence and new urinary catheters.

In addition, she is also involved in local and regional advisory board meetings for overactive bladder and nocturia issues. She is a recipient of the SGH's Service with a Heart Award, the Singapore Health Quality Service Gold Award, and the SGH Long Service Award.
