Dr Adrian Lau is an orthopaedic surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
He has an interest in hip and knee replacements, hip fractures, periprosthetic fractures, as well as prosthetic joint infections.
Dr Lau is a former consultant with the department of orthopaedic surgery at Changi General Hospital (CGH).
He completed his bachelor and master’s degrees at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He did a fellowship in adult reconstruction at the University Hospital, University of Western Ontario, London Health Sciences Centre, Canada. He then went to Nuffield Orthopaedics Centre, UK, to do a fellowship in unicompartmental knee replacement and lower limb reconstruction.
He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, and a member of the Singapore Orthopaedic Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr Lau continues to be active in research and has more than 10 publications to date. He continues to play an active role in the education of junior doctors, and has been a recipient of the Outstanding Medical Educator Award and the SingHealth Rise Awards. He is also an adjunct assistant professor at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and a senior clinical lecturer at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
He is a reviewer of the Singapore Medical Journal, Annals Academy of Medicine Singapore, and Journal of Orthopaedics, Trauma and Rehabilitation. He was involved in the Ministry of Health workgroups for valued-driven outcome in total knee replacement and total hip replacements, and was the clinical champion and representative for the same workgroups at CGH.
