Dr Jason Lim is a general surgeon practising at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
He specialises in general surgery and colorectal surgery, and his clinical interests include the treatment of complex anal conditions such as perianal fistula and functional bowel problems like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), intractable constipation and bowel incontinence.
Prior to leaving for private practice, Dr Lim was a consultant surgeon in the department of colorectal surgery at Singapore General Hospital (SGH).
Dr Lim obtained a fellowship position in advanced proctology in Denmark, allowing him to be part of the team pioneering new techniques in the treatment of complex perianal and anovaginal fistulas, which included stem cell therapy and fat transfer techniques.
He also published the first research paper on the prevalence of faecal incontinence in Singapore.
Dr Lim’s continual interest in improving patient outcomes and experience led him to hold concurrent management positions, including member of the medical board and clinician lead at the Same Day Admission Centre at SGH.
He was also the co-chair of the clinical quality improvement committee for the SingHealth Surgery Academic Clinical Program, and co-chair of the clinical learning environment review committee for the SingHealth Surgical Residency Program.
