Dr Harvard Lin is an obstetrician & gynaecologist at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore.
His subspecialties are minimally invasive surgery including the management of complex gynaecologic conditions such as deep infiltrating endometriosis, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, as well as urogynaecology (including the management of stress urinary incontinence, overactive bladder and pelvic organ prolapse).
His clinical interests include obstetrics, endometriosis, fibroids, pelvic floor and incontinence. He also performs advanced surgeries including laparoscopic, robotic and vaginal.
Dr Lin was the former clinical director of the gynaecology services at Ng Teng Fong Hospital, Alexandra Hospital and Jurong Medical Centre. He is currently a visiting consultant at those hospitals as well as the National University Hospital (NUH).
He graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and did his specialist training in OBGYN in Singapore. He obtained his membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, UK and his master’s degree from NUS.
Dr Lin started the gynaecology programme at Ng Teng Fong Hospital, Alexandra Hospital and Jurong Medical Centre. He has performed more than 1000 complex laparoscopic procedures and 500 vaginal surgeries. He is one of the earliest doctors in Southeast Asia to do laparoscopic urogynaecologic procedures such as Burch colposuspension and sacrocolpopexy.
Besides his clinical work, Dr Lin is a clinical lecturer for undergraduate education at NUS and a core faculty for postgraduate education at NUH. He is also a faculty at various minimally invasive surgery, obstetric anal sphincter injury and pelvic floor reconstruction workshops. He is passionate about surgical teaching and has mentored 10 gynaecologic surgeons. He was also the chairman of the gynaecologic accreditation committee in NUH, which oversees the governance and credentialing process for gynaecologic consultants.
Dr Lin has organised various public educational events such as the Endometriosis Awareness Campaign and the Urogynaecology Awareness Week. He also has spoken at public and GP forums, and public awareness roadshows.
He is a recipient of the Patient Service Excellence Award.
