Dr Ng Tay Meng [MBBS, M.Med(Int Med), FAMS, MRCP(UK) FRCP(Edin) FICS(USA)].
I graduated from the University of Singapore in 1983 and underwent postgraduate specialist training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology in Singapore. I attained my Master of Medicine Degree and became Member of Royal College of Physician in 1989. I was subsequently inducted as Fellow of the Academy of Medicine in Singapore as well as Royal College of Physician in Edinburgh.
I completed one-year sub-specialty training in Interventional Gastrointestinal Endoscopy at the London National Medical Laser Centre, United Kingdom in 1995, where I received intensive and comprehensive training in all aspects of therapeutic Gastrointestinal endoscopy, in particular Endoscopic Laser Therapy of Gastrointestinal Cancers and Endoscopic ultrasound staging of Gastrointestinal cancers.
I have performed several clinical trials and published scientific papers on gastrointestinal and liver diseases and was given Young Investigator Awards in 1996 and 1998 in the Asia-Pacific Digestive Disease Week.
I was senior consultant gastroenterologist and head of GI endoscopy service in government hospital before setting up my own private practice in 2003 in Gleneagles Medical Centre.
