Dr Seng Chusheng is an orthopaedic surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital and Parkway East Hospital, Singapore.
He subspecialises in foot and ankle surgery, and has experience in performing surgeries such as minimally invasive hallux valgus (bunion) correction surgery, complex foot and ankle fracture fixation, keyhole ligament reconstruction and cartilage repair.
Over the span of his career, Dr Seng has performed more than a thousand surgeries and has experience in managing and performing both minimally invasive and open surgeries for foot and ankle conditions, general orthopaedic trauma, and sport-related injuries of the knee.
He can also perform treatments such as as minimally invasive arthroscopic ankle fusion, joint replacement, minimally invasive hallux valgus correction (bunion) surgery, complex foot and ankle fracture fixation and deformity correction, keyhole ligament reconstruction and cartilage repair for sports-related injuries of the foot and ankle.
He graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2005 with degrees in medicine and surgery, followed by his master's degree in medicine (orthopaedic surgery). He was subsequently appointed as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK, (Orthopaedic Surgery).
Dr Seng undertook his subspecialty training at the Assal Centre in Geneva, Switzerland, and was mentored for complex foot and ankle deformity correction and trauma, as well as for minimally invasive/keyhole foot and ankle surgery.
He is currently a visiting consultant for the department of orthopaedic surgery in Singapore General Hospital (SGH). Prior to private practice, he was a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in SGH, during which he was awarded the SingHealth Service with A Heart Award for his dedication towards his patients.
Dr Seng has presented at many local, regional and international conferences including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) Annual Scientific Meeting. In addition, he has published articles in multiple peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research. He was also shortlisted for the Young Investigator Award SGH scientific conference in 2011 and won the Japan Orthopaedic Association Travelling Award in 2012.
